My name is Melissa Pierson. I am the founder of Roots & Shoots Nutrition, and I am a registered Nutritional Therapist practising within London & online.
I offer personalised nutritional consultations and nutrition services to support optimal health and wellbeing. Nutrition and lifestyle approaches to healthcare have been shown to support the health of all major systems of the body. The food we eat is essential for our growth, repair, and maintenance and can be used to prevent illness as well as restoring you back to health. Every bite you take helps to build your cells, muscles, and organs as well as your hormones, enzymes and neurotransmitters that govern how your body works.
I use a range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances with the aim of understanding how these can contribute to displayed symptoms and health concerns. I then work to address nutritional balance in order to support the body in maintaining optimal health. I use the Functional Medicine approach of nutrition science in my clinic to ensure the most up to date and effective nutritional practices are available for my clients.
Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and Nutritional Therapists are trained to understand how nutrients, foods and lifestyle choices contribute and influence the overall function of the body. It can be relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those who want to simply enhance their health and wellbeing. It also looks at the whole person rather than their symptoms in isolation, helping to understand the root cause of illness and the best solutions for long term health.
My clinics are based out of south west London (39 Church Road, Wimbledon Village) and central London (South Molton Street, Mayfair) however I am also able to offer consultations in your own home, workplace/meeting room or via skype/facetime for clients further afield.
